You can reorder nodes in the List Pane using Shft+Up Arrow and Shft+Down Arrow.
You can drag and drop files in any format to the Tree Pane to create a new node with the file as an attachment or to add the attachment to an existing node.
You can paste graphic images copied from other programs to NoteCase Pro's Note Pane and resize them in the process. When you paste, the Image Properties dialog will open, enabling quick resizing and/or switching of image formats.
Want to view all nodes that share a given tag? In the Tags Pane, double-click on the tag to list all nodes that have that tag.

You can clone an entire branch of nodes in one operation using the Insert Branch Clone action found on the Current Node sub-menu of the Tree Menu and the Tree Pane Context Menu.
You can cut and paste node clones rather than moving them. In many circumstances this will require far fewer steps.
When using other programs, you activate the Clipboard Monitor (Tools Menu) to automatically echo any clips you make in other apps to a new separate node at the bottom of the currently open document, including both text and images.
Activate the "Store data source URL when pasting" option on the General Settings Editor's Operations page to automatically paste the source URL when clipping from web pages. This works in the Clipboard Monitor too.
Shortcut -- In the Tags Pane (View Menu toggle), double-click on a tag to display a list of all nodes that share any of the current node's tags.
Want to add particular nodes to the List Pane? In the Tree Pane, mark the nodes you wish to add (Ctrl+Space), then use Tree > Marking > Add Marked Nodes to List.
Want to remove a node from a List Pane view of nodes? Select the node and use the Remove from List action found on the List Pane Context Menu.
You can import from and export to RTF format to share documents with your word processor.
To automatically strip formatting when pasting, use Edit > Copy and Paste Special > Paste as Text.
To copy a node without copying any descendants, use Edit > Copy and Paste Special > Copy Node Only.
Shortcut -- Double click on a node title to open the node in the Node Properties dialog.
Shortcut -- To obtain a List Pane view of all nodes that link to the current node, execute the 12_WhatLinksHere.lua script.
You can change node titles without affecting hyperlinks or bookmarks to the nodes. Every node has its own hidden unique identifier.
You can move or cut AND paste a node within the the same document without affecting hyperlinks or bookmarks to the node.
Shortcut -- Want to paint text with the last color used? Just Ctrl+Click on the Text Color Format menu action or its icon in the default Tool Bar.
Shortcut -- Want to paint text background with the last color used? Just Ctrl+Click on the Format menu's Text Background Color action its corresponding icon in the default Tool Bar.
You may change the title of your document when exported to framed HTML using the Title field in Document Properties. If you do not set the title, the default "NoteCase Pro HTML Export" title will appear instead.
If you set the outline's title in Document Properties, the title will appear in NoteCase Pro's tabs instead of the file name.
Note titles in the Tree Pane can be hyperlinked to other notes or files. Just select the title you wish to link from and open the Link Properties dialog.
You can use NoteCase Pro to manage a code clip library. See the Syntax Highlighting topic in Help.
You can cut, copy, and paste notes and their descendants to other locations in the same or a different outline. Just select the note or parent note's title, and use normal cut, copy, and paste commands.
You can break note titles into multiple lines using the Enter key, but use Ctrl+Enter instead if you have activated "[Enter] key in text area closes the window" in the General Settings Editor's Global settings page.
Hyperlinks can be activated by double-clicking on them or by placing the cursor on them and using the right-click context menu's Open link action. 
If you export to HTML using only the option for "simple format using <H1>...H6> to mark hierarchy," the exported file will open in OpenOffice.org (and its derivatives) with headings converted to heading styles.
You can subscribe to the mailing list, search list archives, get free tech support, request new features, and report bugs. Just use Help > NoteCase Pro on the Internet > Discuss.
You can import exported Simple HTML files into Google Docs and Zoho Writer.
You can clip exported HTML files to a host of web applications that accept input in HTML source code format, with or without a hyperlinked table of contents.
You can link outlines exported to HTML from your web browser's bookmarks toolbar.
You can copy and paste a branch's structure (nodes with titles but no content) within the same outline or from one outline to another using the Edit menu's Copy Branch Structure and Paste Branch to Root. 
You can export the selected branch, selected note only, or only the selected note's descendants as separate documents.
You can import other outlines into the outline you have open.
You can set your document title in Document Properties and when exported to HTML your document title will display on the page, in your browser's title bar, and in the browser's tab for that page.
You can safely experiment with NoteCase Pro if you create a test document for your experiments.
You can copy and paste photos, screengrabs, and other graphic images from other programs to NoteCase Pro, where they will be converted to JPG or PNG format and be stored inline in your document.

To search by node tags, select the Search Target "Node Tags" option on the Find dialog.
To schedule a task, select the Task button from the Node Properties dialog. (Double-click on a node title.)
To convert all plain-text URLs in a node, branch, or the complete document use the Autogenerate Hyperlinks option on the Edit menu's Actions submenu. 
You can customize the NoteCase Pro Help file. But be sure to back it up to a different location before upgrading. Then use Synchronize Documents to import your customizations to the new Help file. 
You can merge changes from another version of the same document using Synchronize Documents. See Help file > User Interface > Dialogs > Synchronize Document. That's handy if you run NoteCase Pro on more than one operating system or more than one machine.
To have plain text URLs automatically converted into hyperlinks, set the  "Automatic links when typing URLs" option in the Configuration dialog's Operations sub-dialog. This works when pasting URLs too.
If you have a desktop search program that indexes HTML files, you can use it to search your outlines that are in .NCD format. (.NCD is HTML with some custom markup stored as HTML comments.)
You can export documents to any of five native NoteCase Pro formats, to HTML with or without CSS, to NoteCenter format, to OPML, to RTF, to a plain text file, to a tabbed text file, or to a stand-alone executable file.

To back up your document, please use one of the natively supported formats (.ncd, .nce, .ncz, .ncdb, or .ncde).
Do not use HTML export for backup (NoteCase Pro cannot open HTML files.)

Regularly use the File > Document > Document Compact feature to defragment your heavily-used .ncdb and .ncde database files. Like hard drives, databases must be defragmented to maintain performance.
